22,000 MSMEs to Get Certified This Year by Quality Council of India

Must Read

The Quality Council of India (QCI) has claimed that it aims to certify as many as 22,000 MSMEs this year under the “ZED Scheme” which has been initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Chairman of QCI Adil Zainulbhai has said the process of certifying the MSMEs will start in the next fifteen days. He claimed the same at an FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) event. The event was on “Sustainable Industry Growth through Quality Systems” which is under the theme “Quality Systems to achieve the goal of Make in India” by the Prime Minister. In the words of Zainulbhai, he claimed that with the help of ZED Scheme, the QCI aims to certify around 1 million MSMEs in the course of next three years.

The Indian Government under the ZED (Zero Effect Zero Defect) certification scheme holds several MSMEs in the country which are widespread in the Make in India sectors. This is carried through various quality control cells and the Government rates these MSMEs only after carrying out a proper assessment of the quality of products and services offered by these MSMEs.

To meet the desired target, Zainulbhai said that he has urged the giant industries in the MSME sector to acquire the products and services only from the certified merchants. He has also made it mandatory for the MSMEs to secure the least bronze standards at the minimum for their products and services. The Chairman of QCI also said that the consumers must demand a high quality of goods and services from the MSMEs and must reject the substandard products. The standards of the products and services of the various MSMEs are not up to the mark and this can be achieved only by measuring the quality standards of the products and services offered by them.
