‘Champions Portal’ a single window system for MSME’s

Must Read

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has introduced AI and ML powered tools on its single window system ‘Champions portal website’ in order to take an active effort in matters related to MSME’s. This multi-modal system also comprises technology equipped physical control rooms at around 69 locations in the country. The MSME ministry launches the Champions portal and thus wishes to stay updated by collecting real-time data and analytics in order to ensure that they stay ahead of any concerns that the sector may face and thus enabling a smoother functioning of MSME operations in the country.

The ministry said, “This input & intervention will enhance our information resources on the one hand and free our human resources on the other.” The primary sources of insights like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Blogs, Reddit and other such types of forums helps the policymakers in gathering information and thus helping the stakeholders make correct decisions as they will “know the pulse of the entire MSME sector.” They were dependent on the complaints and data which comes to and through the MSME ‘Champions’ portal. Now, they are able to know the pulse of the entire MSME Sector even without the stakeholders going to their portal. As per the ‘Champions’ portal pib, Sentiment analysis is being widely used right now to help alleviate the concerns relating to social sentiments that could be used for welfare of the MSME’s as a whole. Moreover, AI tools present Data-driven insights that are easy to understand. They can slice and dice data in many ways which are not available in traditional tools of Information Management Systems (MIS) and the data Analytics can be easily shared as real-time live-data links with the teams at Central (Hub level).

The term CHAMPIONS is used as an acronym and stands for Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength.

The single window system for the MSME’s :

It has been felt important to set up ‘Champions’ portal for MSME’s and promote a unified, empowered, robust, technology driven platform for helping and promoting the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the country. This is basically for making the smaller units big by helping and handholding, in particular, by solving their problems and grievances.

Three basic objectives of the ‘Champions’ :

1.) To help the MSME’s  in terms of finance, management, raw materials, labour, permissions, etc.

2.) To help the MSME’s capture new opportunities in manufacturing and services sectors.

3.) To identify the sparks, i.e., the bright MSMEs who can withstand the current business scenario and become national and international champions.

The new entrepreneurs that wish to register themselves need to check the eligibility criteria first and then apply on the ‘UDYAM registration portal’ or on the Governments’s ‘Single Window Systems’ to register their MSME.
