The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Pune chapter has announced a series of workshops across western Maharashtra to support micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in overcoming key business challenges. The initiative aims to help entrepreneurs scale their operations, improve financial access, and enhance business strategies throughout the year.
Bridging Growth Barriers for Small Businesses
MSMEs often struggle with limited office space, lack of structured business ideas, and restricted financial access. To address these challenges, CII Pune’s workshops will focus on:
- Sales and marketing strategies to expand business reach.
- Financial planning and funding opportunities for sustainable growth.
- Manufacturing best practices to improve efficiency.
- Customized mentorship from industry experts to provide actionable solutions.
Yashwant Desai, Co-Convenor of the CII Pune MSME Panel, highlighted plans to offer financial support for participants:
“We are also planning to arrange finance for them. The selected bank will prepare special products such as reduced interest rates.”
While medium enterprises often have better financial backing, micro and small businesses (typically employing 8-10 people and generating up to ₹50 crore in turnover) face tougher challenges in securing credit.
Expanding Mentorship and Networking Opportunities
A recent two-day workshop at the Institute of Management and Research Development (IMDR) in Pune saw 35 entrepreneurs participate. These attendees have now joined CII’s entrepreneurship development forum, gaining access to:
- Mentorship programs with seasoned industry professionals.
- Networking opportunities to connect with potential investors and partners.
- Tailored business solutions to help navigate growth challenges.
The event was attended by industry leaders, including Amit Ghaisas, Managing Director of YashPrabha Group, Shikha Jain, Director of IMDR, and Sadashib Padhee, Convenor of the CII Pune MSME Panel.

Expanding Reach Across Maharashtra
CII has already hosted workshops in Kolhapur, Nashik, and Aurangabad, with plans to organize 8-10 additional sessions by the end of 2025.
These workshops are free of cost and open to non-members, ensuring accessibility for small business owners seeking growth, mentorship, and financial guidance.
Empowering MSMEs for Long-Term Growth
With this initiative, CII Pune is committed to strengthening the MSME ecosystem by equipping entrepreneurs with essential skills, financial support, and industry connections. As MSMEs continue to play a pivotal role in India’s economic growth, this effort will drive innovation, competitiveness, and long-term business sustainability across the region.
