CMIA conducted a session on Cyber Security awareness in association with the Cyber Security Division, C.P. Office, Aurangabad on Sat, 23rd Oct’21.

CMIA, Past President, Mr. Kamleish Dhoot gave the opening remarks. He mentioned that we are having this program in the cyber security awareness month. Hon’ Secretary, Mr. Satish Lonikar introduced the speakers and also conducted the proceedings of the program.

Mr. Gautam Patare, P I Cyber Crime addressed and directed the participants through a detailed presentation, key highlights of his presentation were:

– Mere negligence of the user can lead to cybercrime or may become a victim. Hence, one needs to be alert and keep track of the happenings around.
– In the majority of cases, MSMEs are the victims of cybercrime, as the owner does not have time to educate and make awareness amongst its employees. MSME needs to invest in the latest technology, to avoid huge losses.
– Not to connect important data to the network.
– One should be very careful while sharing a computer with a distant person.
– Industries need to scrutinize their systems to ensure the lacuna and should immediately rectify it.
– E-mail is the root cause of any cybercrime. Hence employees are to be made aware to assess the authenticity of e-mails, specifically while doing online transactions.
– Briefed on investigation procedures once the cybercrime is reported and the challenges being faced to solve the offense, with the limited resources.

Mr. Rahul Chavan, PSI Cyber Crime presented live examples along with the root cause and learnings on cyber-crimes and guided the participants on precautionary measures to be taken while using the technology.

The session was followed by a Q & A session, in which both the officials answered the queries in quite an understandable and affirmative manner.

CMIA President, Mr. Shivprasad Jaju, Hon’ Secretary, Mr. Satish Lonikar, Immediate Past President, Mr. Kamleish Dhoot, Jt. Treasurer, Mr. Shirish Tambe, EC Member, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Director NIELIT were present on this occasion.

Mr. Shivprasad Jaju presented the vote of thanks. He appraised the participants on the effect of CMIA’s organizing such interactive sessions through one example. He thanked the Cyber Cell Division and also thanked ADGP, Dr. Nikhil Gupta for giving his consent to organize this session.

50+ participants from various industries were present for this program. It was expressed that the session was very informative and educative For the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA).
