An Export Conclave was organized on 24th September at TSSIA House, Wagle Industrial Estate, Thane MH by District Industries Center, Thane – Government of Maharashtra in association with Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TSSIA), Director General of Foreign Trade, Engineering Export Promotion Council, Chemexcil, Texprocil, ECGC, Bank of Maharashtra, MSME-DI Mumbai & All Industrial Association from Thane District. This event was a part of the nationwide celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’. There were presentations on various schemes for Export Promotion by the State and Central Govt.
Mrs Vrushali Sone – General Manager DIC welcomed the participants and the speakers as well as gave an introduction of the programme. Mrs. Sujata Soparkar – VP TSSIA also welcomed the participants and speakers on behalf of TSSIA and also gave a brief introduction about TSSIA and its activities. Mr. Avil D’Mello (Asst Director) DGFT Mumbai made a presentation about Export Process and Various Schemes followed by a detailed presentation on Export Action Plan for Thane District by Mrs Sone. On behalf of Chemical Export Promotion Council (Chemexcil), Mumbai their Acting Executive Director Mr. Deepak Gupta spoke about Opportunities for Export in Chemical & Pharmaceutical Sector. Mr. Mukesh Samtani, (Assistant Director), EEPC, Mumbai presented the Opportunities for Export in Engineering Sector. Mr. Mithilesh Pande, (Director) Gems & Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), Mumbai elaborated about opportunities in Gems and Jewelry sector.
Mr. Rajesh Satam, (Joint Director), Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council, Mumbai made an interesting presentation on Opportunities for Export in Textile Sector. To address the issues related to finance for export promotion, a presentation was made by Mr. Devdutta Rokade, (Zonal Manager), Bank of Maharashtra. A presentation on ECGC on Need of export credit insurance & Export Risk was done by Mr. Lachhman Rohra Branch Manager, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) Thane. Mr. Shailesh Prasad, (Regional Head) Exim, Mumbai also spoke about opportunities and schemes for Exim.
Being among the prominent exporters from the District, Mr. Dharmu Vanjani, (CEO), SS Natu Plastic Pvt. Ltd. And Mr. Sanjaykumar Sinha of ASP Associates share their experience with the gathering. This was followed by an open house discussion where the participants raised various queries before the speakers and the same were suitable addressed. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Sone. The participants, speakers and dignitaries then proceeded to visit the displays and stalls at the exhibition. Around 15 exporters from the district had displayed their products. Around 150 representatives of exporters and Industry Associations participated in this event.
