Interactive Session on Doing Business in Bavaria, Germany.

Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICUsaid that there are various opportunities for Ludhiana Industry if they will Establish their units in Bavaria, Germany like the ease of doing Business, Good office, Better infrastructure, Joint venture, best product rates, free consultancy, and many other good options are available in the European culture.

Mr. Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU emphasized that the MSME sector needs a lot of hand-holding and support from Bavaria if they have to invest there. Bavaria needs to address certain issues if they want Investment from Indian Entrepreneurs, such as good Labour laws, good infrastructure, support of Bavarian Govt to handle competition and unethical business practices of China, Long term policies of Govt., etc. Ludhiana industry has various Industries like casting & Forgings which cannot be established in Bavaria due to environmental issues. If these Units make Casted and Forged components here in India and export semi-finished goods to Bavaria, the finishing touches can be done in Bavaria. Such practices if adopted can boost the Trade between two countries.

Mr. Upkar Singh Ahuja also emphasized the need for Ludhiana Industry to think beyond JUGGAD system and appealed to them to adopt modern manufacturing practices. Only by adopting such practices can Ludhiana Industry survive the global competition. He emphasized the need of enhancing Exports of our country in order to have a strong Economy. He also thanked teams of VDMA and INVEST IN BAVARIA for showing a keen interest in developing business relations. He also assured them of wholehearted support in such an endeavor.

Mr. S. Manohar, Regional Head, VDMA India and Mr. Johtn Kotiyal Executive Director,  State of Bavaria India Office, Invest in Bavaria jointly said that this session was held  to brief the Ludhiana industry on the business opportunities offered by the state of Bavaria and to assist and provide the requisite support in setting up their business operations in Germany. They also gave a Presentation on Indo-German Trade in Engineering Sector.
