International MSME Day celebrates all fellow startup founders, business owners, and micro businesses to acknowledge their helping hand towards the country and making the globe a better place to live. Micro, Small, and Medium ventures have grown tremendously since the COVID lockdown which churned our minds to give ideas that can change the next decade of India and the world.
The 6th of April 2017 was a revolutionary day for the globe, United Nations adopted the resolution of recognizing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in achieving the 2030 agenda. One idea thought and initiative can lead to history which is then written by the golden ink of brand and trust. MSMEs have always amazed us with their uniqueness and contribution to the growth and economy of the country. This day is a celebration of the peculiar decision of the UN leading to witness innovations from our driven minds.
Every year, the theme for MSME Day changes. The latest theme dates back to 2021 and revolves around “Key to an inclusive and sustainable recovery”, these themes focus on the emerging changes in MSME, continuing with “Future-ready MSMEs for India@100”. This will be a conclave of industry leaders, policymakers, knowledge sharing, and actionable ideas that catalyze the MSME growth and development.
On this prestigious occasion, let’s highlight the dynamic journey of MSME in India so far-
- An infusion of 9000 crores will be done by the government of India to fund Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. A scheme for the business enthusiast in you which provides the collateral-free credit of INR 2 lakh crore.
- The Viwad se Vishwas scheme was introduced along with a budget that aims at COVID relief of MSMEs. This scheme proposes that almost 95% of the fortified amount relating to the bid or performance security will be returned to them by the government and government undertakings.
- Youngsters and teenagers-owned startups have seen massive peaks in these years to take a stand towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.
- 10% of the increase has been seen in MSME investments.
- The percentage of women entrepreneurs has a total growth of 50% in India.
International MSME Day highlights the importance of business-oriented minds and entrepreneurship. MSME is a contributor of 33.33% of the country’s total GDP which will be gaining up to $1 trillion to India’s total GDP.
