Launch of a national single-window system for investors and enterprises

Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, Textiles, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Piyush Goyal stated at the launch of the National Single Window System (NSWS) on Wednesday that it is a big step towards making India Aatmanirbhar.

“In this 75-week ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ we can share ‘Azadi ka Amrit’ with investors, business owners (MSMEs) not only from India but from throughout the world,” the minister stated.

He went on to say that NSWS will usher in Azadi fr0m the legacy of running to government offices, i.e. ease of doing business and ease of living Azadi fr0m bureaucracy, duplication, and information asymmetry Azadi fr0m Windows within Windows.

Goyal discussed India’s business and commerce sector, as well as the country’s recent growth rates. “Today, India commands the world’s attention, and the entire world expects India to rise to its proper role as an economic superpower. In Q1FY22, GDP increased by more than 20%, and exports increased by 45.17 percent in August compared to August 2020. In 2020, a record FDI investment of $81.72 billion was made, with $ 22.53 billion influx in the first three months of current fiscal year, up 2X from the same period in 2020. In the last six years, India has risen 35 positions to 46th place on the GII,” Goyal remarked.

According to the ministry, the portal’s beta version has now been completed and is being made available to all stakeholders and the general public as a trial soft launch. The portal’s beta version (Phase I) features approvals from 18 federal departments and nine states, and it’s designed to direct investors to the list of business approvals they could require based on the information they give. By December 2021, another 14 central departments and five states will be onboarded (as part of Phase II), according to the statement.
