Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for the Global Investor Summit (GIS), scheduled to take place on February 24-25 in Bhopal. The event aims to position the state as a key StartUp and innovation hub. Preparations are underway to attract global investors and entrepreneurs, offering opportunities to enhance innovation, industrial growth, and job creation.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized that the summit aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for economic development and entrepreneurship. He stated that fostering a StartUp culture is central to creating new opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the state.

“Our goal is to transform Madhya Pradesh into a ‘Center for StartUps and Innovation,’ providing entrepreneurs with resources and infrastructure to turn their ideas into successful ventures,” said CM Yadav. He further highlighted that international investors will offer StartUps exposure to cutting-edge technologies, providing momentum to local enterprises.

Support for StartUps and Entrepreneurs

The MP StartUp Policy and Implementation Scheme is designed to provide financial assistance, policy backing, and infrastructure support to StartUps. Under the scheme, financial aid of up to 18% of total investment (capped at ₹18 lakh) is available, distributed across up to four stages of StartUp development.

StartUps in Madhya Pradesh benefit from:

  • Exemptions from experience and turnover requirements in government tenders
  • No earnest money deposits for participation in tenders
  • License and permit fee waivers
  • Priority access to government procurement for two years

The CM noted that the state’s abundant natural resources, power, and infrastructure provide strategic advantages for investors. Madhya Pradesh’s connectivity to major industrial corridors enhances the transportation of goods and business expansion prospects.

Educational and Industrial Ecosystem

With over 300 industrial parks and a population exceeding 80 million, Madhya Pradesh offers a strong talent pool for industries. The state hosts 1,287 industrial training institutes, 1,373 colleges, and prestigious institutions like IIT and IIM, producing thousands of graduates annually. Programs are also being launched to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among school and college students.

The Chief Minister shared that Madhya Pradesh is already home to over 4,900 recognized StartUps. The state has developed sector-specific industrial parks in areas such as IT, semiconductors, textiles, automobiles, and solar energy.

Expanding StartUp Ecosystem

According to CM Yadav, the government aims to double the number of StartUps registered under the StartUp India initiative and promote agriculture and food sector StartUps by 200%. Currently, 72 incubators are operational in the state, focusing on product-based StartUps.

“The summit marks a significant step toward transforming Madhya Pradesh into one of India’s leading StartUp hubs. By combining financial incentives, global partnerships, and entrepreneurial programs, we are creating an ecosystem where innovation thrives,” the CM added.

With initiatives like the Global Investor Summit, Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself to drive sustainable economic growth, foster entrepreneurship, and attract global investments for the long term.
