The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is implementing Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2016-20, under Skill India Mission, to impart Short Term Training (STT) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) on pan-India basis including in the State of Maharashtra.
Under this scheme, training is being imparted in various job roles. Apart from these, empanelled training centres mandatorily impart training mandatorily impart training in Soft Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial and Digital Literacy, to all enrolled candidates.
As on 17.01.2020, the number of candidates trained under Short Term Training (STT) courses was 1, 66,870 and 7, 12,383 candidates were oriented under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) component of PMKVY 2016-20 in Maharashtra. Out of the 1, 18,486 certified candidates under Short Term Training, 49,142 have been placed in Maharashtra.
