Uttar Pradesh has unveiled plans to construct a ₹125 crore “flatted factory” in Greater Noida as part of its ambitious strategy to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and drive the state toward its USD 1 trillion economy goal. The project will be developed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Sector 28, Greater Noida, covering more than 38,000 square meters.
A flatted factory is a multi-storey industrial building offering modular, ready-to-use units tailored for MSMEs engaged in light manufacturing, assembly, and storage. These units reduce the infrastructure burden on smaller businesses, allowing them access to essential services like water, electricity, elevators, HVAC, and fire safety systems — all without the need for heavy capital investments.
Plug-and-play infrastructure to reduce entry barriers for small businesses
With rising real estate costs and space constraints, traditional factory setups often remain out of reach for MSMEs. This flatted factory model offers a modern, scalable solution by combining affordability with functionality. Once completed, the facility will house numerous units tailored for immediate industrial use, streamlining the entry of new enterprises into the manufacturing ecosystem.
YEIDA is currently finalising the master plan and other technical reports, with construction scheduled for completion in just 24 months. The development is also being future-proofed with cutting-edge infrastructure and compliance with modern industrial standards.

Boosting employment and regional investment in the MSME sector
Beyond infrastructure, the project is positioned as a key driver for regional economic activity. The flatted factory will encourage entrepreneurship, attract new investments, and create significant employment opportunities in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district and beyond. The government views this as a step toward inclusive growth, targeting skill development and increased participation from MSMEs across sectors.
The initiative reflects Uttar Pradesh’s focused commitment to empowering small businesses, enhancing ease of doing business, and fostering job creation through innovative industrial infrastructure. As MSMEs continue to play a pivotal role in India’s economic landscape, developments like these are vital to nurturing their growth in a competitive and capital-intensive market.
