Amazon is going to organize small business day, the online shopping event on December 16 to promote SMEs and entrepreneurs in India,which has been announced by Company on Monday.
Amazon said that “Through the event, we target to promote small businesses and micro entrepreneurs- SMEs and support shoppers to find out and buy products directly offered by them,” Amazon India stated in a statement here.
The one-day online sale, starting from the midnight of December 16, is predicted to perceive the participation of thousands of small business owners from crosswise the country, Amazon said.
The company, which claimed the event to be the first-of-its-kind online sale committed to small businesses in the nation, however, did not reveal the exact number of sellers to be piece of the online sales event.
In a bid to support the SMEs, the e-commerce major will tender products from different small sellers at special prices and cashbacks for buyers, the statement said.

“This scheme will bring small and micro sellers and customers in concert to improve India’s local economy,” said the director of Amazon India Seller Services, Gopal Pillai, in the statement.
