In a significant push to strengthen India’s startup landscape, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed an MoU with Kyndryl Solutions Pvt Ltd to support startups in manufacturing and IT sectors. The collaboration aims to integrate enterprise-grade digital and AI solutions with early-stage innovation to help startups scale operations and expand into global markets.
Creating a Support System for SMEs
The partnership will provide mentorship, infrastructure support, and market access to startups, enabling them to build scalable digital products and services. Target sectors include automotive, pharmaceuticals, BFSI, oil & gas, and public sector services.
Startups will benefit from Kyndryl’s global enterprise network, gaining insights into product development, market readiness, cybersecurity resilience, and integration into enterprise environments.
Structured Programs and Enterprise Collaboration
Kyndryl will run dedicated startup programs to foster innovation in areas like Generative AI, digital transformation, and data-driven product development. It will also host advisory sessions and industry workshops to help entrepreneurs improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
In collaboration with Startup India and DPIIT, Kyndryl will provide policy insights, knowledge-sharing opportunities, and access to government-backed incentives. The initiative is designed to help startups scale globally, while also strengthening the domestic digital economy.

Signing the MoU, Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal (Director, DPIIT) and Kyndryl’s representative underscored the importance of public–private partnerships in nurturing innovation and SME development. DPIIT’s startup support framework combined with Kyndryl’s enterprise expertise aims to build a structured, innovation-friendly ecosystem where Indian startups can thrive, scale, and lead globally.
