Tell us briefly about your journey at ESDS from the beginning.
I joined ESDS in March 2011 I moved over to take over other roles, due to my passion for technology. Subsequently, I have been serving as the Chief Growth Officer at ESDS, a role where I believe that it is difficult to differentiate technology from business.
What is the major reason you feel ESDS has the Largest Number of Banking customers?
ESDS BFSI Community Cloud includes the patented technology eNlight which assists in delivering Core Banking as a Service to the Banking customers on a subscription model.
ESDS has been able to specifically penetrate cooperative banks, with its unique “pay per branch” billing model, which allows a bank to pay a fixed amount per month per branch. In return, ESDS manages its core banking software hosting and other managed services, together with its BFSI technology partners. As of June 30, 2021, the BFSI Community Cloud is used by more than 400 banks and financial institutions across India.
What are your expansion plans?
We intend to capitalize on the growth of the Cloud market by scaling our operations nationally and in international markets through increasing our focus on mid-market enterprise customers by offering integrated Cloud solutions, Hybrid Cloud offerings, and introducing new / enhancing existing SaaS solutions for the needed accelerated digital transformation of customer business, amongst other initiatives.
What more opportunities are expected in ESDS after hiring drive for over 300 engineers?
ESDS’s ability to provide quality managed services, and also to manage the complexity of our business for success depends largely on our ability to continue to hire, integrate, train, and retain qualified and highly skilled personnel in the areas of management, sales, and marketing, research and development, compliance, finance, human resources, administration, and technical team. Therefore, opportunities in ESDS are a continuous process and are seen as a vital part of growth strategy.
Currently how important is the cloud for organizations and how is ESDS playing its role.
Cloud Computing offers numerous benefits, and when combined with Advanced Technologies and Automation, enhances the end-user experience. The cloud services market in India was undergoing a cloud transition phase, which got accelerated by the perpetuation of Covid-19 in 2020. During the first quarter of 2020, spending of enterprises on cloud infrastructure increased by ~35%, compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. The shift of work culture from office set-ups to virtual work generated the urgent need of secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective technology services across the country. SaaS has been a huge support for the sudden increase in the mobile workforce in 2020. The Indian cloud infrastructure witnessed a y-o-y growth of around 15% by the end of 2020. As per the IT spending survey, more than 65% of India’s enterprises have realized the benefits of opting for the cloud in terms of acquiring new clients, serving the existing customer base, and achieving good profitability. ~81% of corporate organizations have adopted cloud services in the wake of the pandemic, with the implementation of work from home culture. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Indian organizations have become more data-driven in terms of their decision-making; thereby leading to the growing use of cloud technology to make optimal utilization of insights from data. We are amongst India’s leading managed cloud service and end-to-end multi-cloud requirements providers. Our business offerings provide a comprehensive range of solutions, which we believe provide a “one-stop-shop” for our customer’s cloud adoption, and is an important factor in customer acquisition, retention and set us apart from our competitors. Our wide range of products includes IaaS, SaaS, and managed services. The cloud industry as well as our Company is characterized by multiple levers of growth such as general growth of the industry and government initiatives for promoting cloud services. We believe that we are well-positioned to leverage such opportunities due to our robust and scalable business model.
