Haryana Traders Seek MSME Grievance Redressal Board

Must Read

The Haryana chapter of the Rashtriya Jan Udyog Beopar Sangathan has called for the establishment of a dedicated MSME grievance redressal board, aimed at resolving small business challenges more efficiently. Addressing mediapersons in Panipat, Gulshan Dang, State President of the Sangathan, said the lack of an institutional platform for grievance resolution continues to hinder the growth of India’s MSME sector — the backbone of its industrial economy.

“The Haryana government has announced many schemes, but their benefits often stop at the announcement stage. We need a mechanism that ensures those benefits reach the grassroots entrepreneur,” Dang said.

Bridging Awareness Gaps in Policy Implementation

Dang pointed out that despite the government’s emphasis on Ease of Doing Business, awareness among small traders remains limited. Many entrepreneurs, he noted, are unaware of welfare schemes, digital finance tools, and technology adoption programs that could significantly enhance their competitiveness.

He urged both Central and State governments to collaborate more closely with trade associations, which can act as direct bridges between policymakers and the trading community. “These associations are closest to the ground reality. Empowering them as information channels can increase awareness and ensure real impact,” he added.

Technology, Digitalisation, and Branding Support for MSMEs

The Sangathan also called for a Technology Development Mission for MSMEs that would help small businesses adopt modern tools, enhance product branding, and strengthen their online presence. Dang highlighted that India’s MSMEs need a structured digital ecosystem that supports them in areas such as automation, compliance, and e-market integration — critical to improving productivity and market access.

He further underlined persistent challenges such as delays in electricity connections, environmental clearances, and factory licensing — issues that, he said, could be reduced if MSMEs had a formal grievance board to escalate and monitor complaints.

Towards a Culture of Continuous Dialogue

Dang said the Sangathan aims to establish “a new tradition of dialogue” between the government and the business community, ensuring that the voices of small traders are consistently heard. “MSMEs are the foundation of employment and innovation,” he concluded. “If we can ensure timely support and accountability through a proper redressal board, we will unlock the full potential of this sector.”
