KVIC & NSIC MoU to Boost MSME Marketing at Seva Parv

Must Read

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) marked a significant milestone during the ongoing MSME Seva Parv 2025: Virasat se Vikas in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, with a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). The agreement focuses on enhancing marketing support for traditional and village industries, ensuring better reach, visibility, and commercial opportunities for India’s artisans and small manufacturers.

Held at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre, the event was presided over by Union MSME Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi and inaugurated by Union Minister of State for MSME Sushri Shobha Karandlaje. The MoU was part of a larger initiative to promote cultural heritage-based entrepreneurship and enable market-driven growth for MSMEs.

Strengthening the Khadi Movement with Marketing Support

The KVIC–NSIC partnership is expected to address one of the most persistent challenges for rural entrepreneurs — access to markets. Through this MoU, both institutions will collaborate on promotional campaigns, exhibitions, and trade facilitation to help artisans and rural producers scale up operations and secure larger market share in both domestic and global platforms.

This move aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of promoting Swadeshi and Atmanirbhar Bharat, where Khadi, village industries, and micro-enterprises become pillars of inclusive economic growth.

Event Highlights: Empowering Through Seva and Self-Reliance

The three-day event, running from September 28 to 30, drew over 1,500 beneficiaries from across India, including artisans, women entrepreneurs, and SC/ST micro-enterprises. A vibrant exhibition-cum-sale was organised to showcase products made by these local producers under various government schemes, such as PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, and Khadi Gramodyog Yojana.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Manjhi reiterated that MSMEs are India’s biggest engines of employment and economic empowerment. He praised schemes like Udyam Registration, Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE), and the National SC/ST Hub, which have enabled more Indians to start and scale their businesses.

Minister Karandlaje added, “India’s road to becoming a developed nation runs through the lanes of rural and small-scale industries. MSMEs hold the key to job creation and self-reliance. This event is not just about policy—it’s about people.”

A Cultural Celebration With Policy Impact

Alongside the formal proceedings, the event also featured Swachhata Karyakram at Namo Ghat, encouraging community participation in cleanliness drives and cultural preservation.

The highlight, however, was the distribution of toolkits, loan certificates, and margin subsidies to beneficiaries under various MSME schemes—converting policy into tangible support for small business owners.

By combining heritage with entrepreneurship, and tradition with technology, MSME Seva Parv 2025 is a timely reminder that grassroots enterprises remain the heart of India’s growth story.
