MSME Launches Special Campaign 5.0 for Swachhata and Efficiency

Must Read

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) has launched “Special Campaign 5.0” from October 2 to October 31, 2025, to strengthen cleanliness, streamline operations, and minimize pendency across its nationwide offices. This initiative is aligned with the government’s ongoing efforts to institutionalize Swachhata (cleanliness) and improve administrative efficiency.

In this edition, the campaign places a special focus on the disposal of e-waste generated in government offices, in accordance with the E-Waste Management Rules 2022 issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Two-Phase Approach for Sustainable Impact

The campaign is structured in two key phases:

  1. Preparatory Phase (Sept 16–30, 2025): This phase involved identifying cleanliness campaign sites, redundant materials, e-waste stockpiles, and pending administrative matters. It also included plans for space management and office beautification.

  2. Implementation Phase (Oct 2–31, 2025): This ongoing phase emphasizes the execution of identified tasks, including active cleanliness drives, e-waste disposal, and backlog resolution across MSME offices and affiliated institutions.

To ensure effective coordination, nodal officers have been appointed at various offices. Virtual meetings were held with field units to brief them on campaign objectives and encourage participation.

Awareness and Participation Across the Board

The Ministry is actively leveraging banners, standees, and social media campaigns to raise awareness. Locations such as Kartavya Bhawan and various MSME field offices are displaying campaign materials prominently to foster a sense of collective responsibility among employees and stakeholders.

The Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to the success of Special Campaign 5.0 by encouraging widespread participation from all divisions, autonomous bodies, and statutory institutions. Through this concerted effort, MSME aims not only to enhance internal efficiency but also to set a benchmark for institutional cleanliness and digital governance.
