Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tier II and III cities have reported an average 20% increase in revenue after integrating with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), according to EasyPay. The fintech firm, which became a seller app on ONDC last year, noted that Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra are leading the adoption with the highest number of MSMEs onboarded.
EasyPay’s role in enabling digital access
EasyPay aims to bring over 100,000 businesses onto the platform by FY 2026–27. The company supports MSMEs with door-to-door outreach, vernacular language workshops, digital support, and a suite of services such as storefront creation, payment integration, capital access, and business analytics.
ONDC and TEAM scheme power MSME inclusion
The Ministry of MSME’s Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) scheme, launched in 2023 with a ₹277.35 crore outlay for three years, also aims to onboard 5 lakh MSMEs, half of them women-owned. The initiative offers awareness sessions and handholding support to help small enterprises transition into digital commerce.
ONDC’s open digital network model
Launched in April 2022, ONDC was designed to democratize e-commerce by enabling sellers and buyers from different platforms to transact using standardized APIs. This model facilitates interoperability and encourages fair competition. MSMEs benefit from wider market access, reduced digital barriers, and tools that enhance their operational capabilities.
