TSSIA ,COSIA and SIDBI organizes a Webinar on Benefits OF TReDS Platform for MSMEs

THANE SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION (TSSIA), CHAMBER OF SMALL INDUSTRY ASSOCIATIONS (COSIA) and SIDBI – GRANT THRONTON PMU (GT SIDBI PMU) had organized a Webinar on Benefits OF TReDS Platform for MSMEs on 7th September, 2021. With MSMEs recovering from the effects of the global pandemic and supply chain disruption, TReDS can be a lifeline for MSMEs as it provides opportunity in times of crisis to avail the benefits of early payment through TReDS platform. ). This webinar was thus organized to draw the attention of MSMEs towards the TReDS initiative, facilitated by Receivables Exchange of India Limited (RXIL).

Mr Sameer Shirodkar – Secretary Legal welcomed the participants on behalf of COSIA and TSSIA. Mrs Sujata Soparkar VP of TSSIA briefed the participants about TSSIA and its activities. She also stated that platforms like TReDS can be a boon as a source of supply chain finance for MSMEs to receive payments in advance against their invoices and that the participants should take maximum benefit of this webinar. Mr. Harsh Trivedi – Assistant Manager (Grant Thronton) briefed the participants about SIDBI-GT PMU and its activities. Mr. Trivedi introduced the speaker of the webinar Ms. Kirti Musale, AVP of RXIL who gave a detailed presentation on TReDS and RXIL covering important points like MSME contribution to Indian economy (Importance of MSME); vital data on Issues faced by MSME due to delayed payments; Efforts taken till date by Government to address MSME issues caused by delayed payments; background & evolution of TReDS; about TReDS and RXIL;         TReDS Workflow and processes; Benefits of TReDS for MSME Seller and Initiatives taken by Govt. and RBI regarding TReDS.

The presentation was followed by Q & A Session where participants raised queries regarding registration process, fees, and benefits in specific cases etc. Most of the participants were concerned about the effectiveness of TReDS in cases where buyers are not willing to pay and how TReDS can be made more effective in such cases. Mr. Purushottam Agwan (VP of COSIA) also addressed the queries of the participants regarding TReDS and Delayed payment issues. Mr. Trivedi requested the participants to contact RXIL or himself or TSSIA in case they need any assistance in registering with RXIL TReDS Platform. Mr. Agwan summed up the webinar and thanked the participants, SIDBI – GT PMU and Ms Musale for her insightful presentation on TReDS and answering the queries of the participants

Around 50 participants attended this webinar which proved beneficial for them as the speaker made an in-depth presentation on TReDS and was able to address many of their queries and doubts.
