NIRDC Launches InDApp for MSME Access

Must Read

India’s MSME sector has long struggled with fragmented access to schemes, financial linkages, and national marketplaces. To address this gap, the National Industries Research and Development Council (NIRDC) has launched InDApp, a unified digital platform designed to streamline how small businesses connect with government benefits, compliance services, and market opportunities. Positioned as a “one-nation, one-platform” gateway, InDApp aims to bring millions of micro and small entrepreneurs into the formal digital economy with a single, accessible solution.

A Digital Bridge for MSMEs Across India

InDApp has been built to simplify the challenges that small enterprises face when navigating government portals, certification processes, and finance networks. Backed by eight central ministries, the platform offers MSMEs a consolidated interface where they can manage registrations, access financial institutions, explore capacity-building programs, and connect with buyers.

For entrepreneurs in remote regions, the app functions as both a marketplace and a support hub. It allows an artisan, farmer-producer, or home-grown trader to list products, find partners, and gain visibility far beyond their local markets. The platform is available on both Play Store and App Store and operates on a subscription model.

NIRDC has already set up 388 InDApp Business Facilitation Centres across India, offering assisted enrolment and handholding support. The Council aims to expand coverage to more than 6,000 taluks by December 2026.

Leadership Perspectives on InDApp’s Role

According to NIRDC Chairman Shambhu Singh, the platform merges digital services with on-ground outreach to create a seamless experience for small enterprises. He said the hybrid model ensures transparent processes and enables even the smallest ventures to tap national and global opportunities.

Vice-Chairman Lalit Varma described InDApp as a central technological innovation for India. He highlighted that the platform reduces the complexity and time associated with navigating multiple government systems, giving MSMEs a clear pathway to growth.

Future Integrations and Financial Linkages

NIRDC plans to onboard banks, NBFCs and financial service providers to expand credit access for small firms. The platform is also expected to integrate services from ministries involved in agriculture, commerce and rural development, creating a multi-sector support network for MSMEs.

To enhance ground-level adoption, NIRDC will deploy 1,500 field agents in the next six months to help enterprises register, complete documentation and begin using platform features effectively.

Driving Inclusive MSME Growth

With digitisation becoming a necessity rather than an option, InDApp could serve as a transformative tool for improving market access, strengthening compliance, and increasing business transparency. By reducing friction in government interactions and connecting MSMEs with national opportunities, the platform supports India’s larger goal of enabling inclusive growth and boosting small enterprise competitiveness.
